Now this is not my favorite purple strain, but it is a great example of just how purple some strains could get. The Erk is a parent to the Grandaddy, Princess Purple and many other strains. Very fruity taste and smell and great long lasting effects.

I used to get some mad purple stuff years ago. We called it "Barney"...
I found this had an aromatic element of cedar in it and in the aftertaste, just a suggestion of grapefruit peel. I don't usually drink while I smoke, but this would go nicely with a chaptalized Alsatian riesling or even a Selection de Grains Nobles. Also good with bittersweet chocolate.

I would like to eat a slice of sugared purple erkle as frosting on white cake, still warm and perfumed with vanilla and butter. To wash it down, real Persian red hash, dissolved in grappa and served lightly heated over a beeswax candle flame.
Interesting idea, the cake frosting. I'm thinking of using Purple Erkle in a spring salad mix, with fresh tangerine segments and toasted almonds. Some people like to soak the bud in chablis prior to breaking it up over the lettuce but I find it quite nice as is. This is a wonderful way to start off a meal and really starts kicking in by the time you're eating dessert.
